Adoc Talent Management is looking for a PhD Researcher – Sustainable Mining and Finance M/F who is ready to assume a transformative role in leading research initiatives for our client in the fields of economics, blockchain, energy, policy, and environmental sciences. Our client is a very innovative investment management company with a startup spirit, offering a wide range of alternative strategies, specialized in equity derivatives: dividend futures and options on stocks and indices. They have the willingness to explore new businesses and are always seeking new opportunities in everchanging markets. Position As a PhD Researcher, your main objective is to lead groundbreaking research initiatives. The position involves conducting cuttingedge research at the intersection of blockchain technology, energy modelling, and sustainable mining. You will investigate the effectiveness of renewable energypowered data centers in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, you will analyze the economic viability and environmental impact of converting stranded or landfill gas into energy for Bitcoin mining operations or highperformance computing data centers. You will explore innovative applications of blockchain in environmental projects, such as carbon credit trading, energy tracking, and resource management. Collaboration with crossdisciplinary teams is crucial to assess the potential for blockchain to enhance sustainability and energy efficiency in the tech industry. The findings of this research will be published in toptier academic journals to contribute to the academic and practical understanding of blockchain's role in sustainable practices. Furthermore, the role involves engaging with industry partners to apply research findings to realworld scenarios, driving innovation and the practical implementation of sustainable blockchain mining solutions. The position is to be filled in Paris as soon as possible, with the possibility of partial or full Remote Work. Profile You hold a Ph.D. in Financial Mathematics, Quantitative Sustainable Finance, Environmental Science, Energy Policy, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with a focus on areas intersecting with blockchain technology, economics, or environmental initiatives including modelling and large dataset analysis. Additional experience in Academia or in the industry is a plus. From a technical perspective, you possess a strong theoretical and practical understanding of blockchain technology, particularly in its applications for sustainability and energy management. Your commitment extends to advancing environmentally responsible and economically feasible Bitcoin mining practices. Moreover, you demonstrate excellent analytical skills, capable of synthesizing complex data and concepts into actionable strategies into the Fintech industry. You are interested in renewable energy, Bitcoin mining operations, and have the capacity to combine your quantitative skills with Data. Highly agile, and proactive, you excel in communication, presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to both academic and industry audiences. Your ability to perform effectively in dynamic and highpressure environments reflects your passion for the development of sustainable technologies in the FinTech sector.
